Plan maintenance around the trees at your home
Tree care and gutter care serve different purposes
St. Matthews has a city arborist and a program supporting its tree canopy. For a home with branches near the roof, gutter planning should account for the debris actually reaching the gutters. Tree questions belong with the arborist; cleaning or guards address the gutter system. A street tree alone does not establish which service your home needs.
Assess the existing system
A leaking joint or loose section does not automatically mean you need all new gutters. During your estimate, I’ll look at the affected area and the rest of your system, then explain whether a repair or replacement makes sense.
Include the mounting area
From the ground, note where water spills, where a gutter pulls away, or which downspout is loose. If the boards behind your gutters or panels under your roof overhang are damaged, we can also discuss fascia and soffit repair.

Should I choose guards simply because my street has trees?
No. The branches near your roof, type of debris, roof valleys and condition of the gutters matter more than the street name. Ask about the guard surface, fit and maintenance before choosing a system.
