A useful starting point
Coordinate gutters with roofing and exterior work
Mention other work you are planning
If you are also arranging roofing, painting, or exterior repairs, mention that when requesting your estimate. The sequence can affect access and which materials need attention first. Discuss timing before scheduling instead of assuming every contractor can work in any order.
Choose repair or replacement deliberately
A project elsewhere on your home is an opportunity to review the gutters, not proof that they need replacing. Ask Chris to inspect the current system and explain whether a localized repair, cleaning, or new seamless gutters would address your goals.
Agree on the handoff
Before gutter work begins, clarify which surfaces and components are included and which belong to another contractor’s scope. Share any relevant dates or restrictions. A clear plan helps you coordinate the work without expecting the gutter estimate to cover unrelated repairs.
Should gutters be scheduled before or after a new roof?
The sequence depends on the roof-edge work and whether existing gutters can remain during it. Have the roofer and gutter installer clarify removal, flashing access and protection of finished surfaces before either job begins.
